Phupai Adventure - The Village center of Pai - Temples and Shrines - Elephant camps
The Centre of Pai Village

Only 10 minutes from Phupai, you can enjoy the nice car free street (walking Street Pai or Rungsiyanon Road ) in the city center with Thai Massage Shops, many restaurants (try the northern style food or Halal Street Food), souvenir shops and the many icons, t-shirts and postcards that make Pai a new tourist shopping hub.
See more of Pai Walking street and Rungsiyanon Road here.
Lisu Village (Near Pai)
 |
There are a few programs where you can experience the homestay with the Lisu tribes, but only about 20 minutes from Pai center there is a small Lisu village you should visit even for a couple of minutes, tourism has not taken the toll here around Pai as the mass invasion of Chiang Mai did, so the people still live in authentic dress and houses, and not build or dressed for the mass amount of tourist that arrive on busses. Take the time to communicate with them, and ask first if you can make a photo, I even got two authentic Lisu hats for 100 THB (about 3 USD) + I gave them a 20 baht tip for all the pictures I took.
If you stay the night, the climate was also notably different then in Pai, with cool cloudy mornings, hot days, but cooling down again early in the evening before dark.
